What Are Dental Implants?

Dr. Neal Raval uses this modern procedure to replace your missing teeth.

If you are missing a tooth, you may avoid smiling or perhaps have feelings of embarrassment when you laugh. What’s more, you may feel it is more difficult, cumbersome, or even painful to eat or speak.

Dental implants in Seattle offer a permanent and discreet solution to your missing tooth or teeth. This modern procedure can restore your smile to its original strength, function, and look. These implants are made up of three components:

  • Implant: Biocompatible titanium posts that mimic your tooth root
  • Abutment: This is the small connector to link your implant to your new restoration
  • Restoration: Perhaps a crown, bridge, or denture attached to recreate your smile

Dr. Neal Raval is a skilled periodontist and has years of experience in performing dental implant treatments. He uses his advanced training and state-of-the-art technology to restore the shape, function, and appearance of your smile.

We promise to never recommend a treatment that you don’t need but rather give our recommendations as we would to our own family. If you want to restore your smile, you are invited to come and have a consultation with Dr. Raval. Remember how great it is to smile without hesitation!

Dr. Raval is your caring dental partner in the field of restorative dentistry. He makes sure you are comfortable from start to finish. Our team works with your dentist in Seattle to answer any questions and place you a state of absolute comfort before beginning your implant placement process. This may include sedation dentistry or just local anesthesia. Dr. Raval uses a CT scanner to assess the placement of your implants and plan the full restoration. He uses this technology as a guide for more predictable and accurate results.

Once you are ready, Dr. Raval performs the following implant procedure:

  • First, he carefully places a titanium post in your jaw. This post is similar to a tooth root as it allows the replacement tooth or teeth to be securely fitted and held in place.
  • Once secured, the titanium post serves as a base for an abutment, which is placed to connect your new implant to the restoration.
  • Finally, your custom-made restoration is placed onto your abutment. All our restorations are made of a modern material that resembles your teeth, so it naturally blends in with your smile.

This treatment is designed so your implant does not come loose and is a stable support, allowing you to enjoy all of your favorite foods and smile with confidence.
